The Muslim Community of Knoxville (MCK) has been serving the Muslims in the Greater Knoxville area since the early 1980s. MCK is registered as a non-profit organization with the State of Tennessee. The MCK works in close cooperation with other Muslim organizations in the area, most notably:

• The Muslim Students Association of the University of Tennessee, Knoxville.  Established in the 1980's to dispel misconceptions about Islam to the general campus community and also to build an on-campus Muslim community.
• The Islamic Education Foundation of Knoxville (IEFK), whose main objective is to establish a K-12 Islamic school in the area. The IEFK was established as a result of efforts by the MCK Shura Board with close cooperation with many Muslims in the area.
• Annoor Academy of Knoxville (AAK) which currently runs a KG-5 full time school. AAK was established by the MCK, but now runs under the umbrella of the IEFK.
