• MCK does not perform marriages until a marriage license has been issued - this license must be present at the time of marriage as it will be signed by the MCK official performing the marriage
• Need oral verification of religion
• The bride's father/guardian (wali) should be present at the time of the marriage contract. If the father/guardian is unable to attend then his oral approval or, at least, his written approval must be submitted before the contract can be performed
• If this is the Groom's and/or Bride’s 2nd marriage; a divorce certificate needs to be shown to the MCK official performing the marriage
• Need valid government issued I.D card i.e. drivers’ license/US passport/Greencard
• Set up a marriage ceremony date and time with MCK by emailing marriage@muslimknoxville.org
• MCK highly recommends and encourages pre-marital counseling
